That year the annual ethical hacking championship CTFZONE 2018 merged with the conference. Following the playoffs, 10 best teams from Russia, Hungary, Poland, South Korea, Ukraine and China made it to the final round and were invited to Moscow to go head-to-head in the legendary Attack/Defence cyber-battle. In the course of two days, the teams had to scout for vulnerabilities in the opposing teams’ services, while, simultaneously trying to effectively fend off incoming attacks.
The total prize fund of $18 000 was awarded as follows:
Bushwakers (Russia) — 1st place ($10 k);
LC/BC (Russia) — 2nd place ($5 k);
The main features of the conference came to be the 2 main report tracks (Main Track, Fast Track) and the CTFZONE 2018 final – ethical hacking tournament. Apart from that you could find something useful and interesting being talked about at the various IT zones scattered throughout the venue. Security gurus from the largest financial institutions shared their knowledge at the FINANCE.ZONE, experts of application security analysis presented their findings at the WEB.ZONE, gritty researchers gave us a deeper look into the equipment and manual side of computers at the HARDWARE.ZONE. In the 2 days of the conference we have seen over 50 experts from Russia, Europe and Asia present their reports at the 2 tracks. Some of the attending guest speakers were representatives of such companies as ESET, Symantec, Kaspersky Labs. Listen to the reports from OFFZONE 2018 here.
